Forever by Patrick Tuttofuoco
Created in the context of OBSERVING Nft Art Lab, a hub for artistic-technical experimentation on Non Fungible Tokens conceived by THAT'S CONTEMPORARY for UNFRAMED 721, FOREVER is the first nft work by artist Patrick Tuttofuoco presented thanks to the collaboration with Casa degli Artisti in the context of Art Week 2022 in Milan.
The OBSERVING project is a currently existing research laboratory that invites contemporary artists to create new works by experimenting with innovative processes through Non Fungible Token technology.
The first invited artist is PATRICK TUTTOFUOCO (1974, Milan, Italy), a Berlin-based Italian artist who has been investigating the relationship between human beings and context for years in an inescapable space-time dialogue.
FOREVER stems from the artist's reflection on the Non-Fungible-Token as a new medium for the expression of his artistic research. Drawing from the interest in the theme of the experience of time, already investigated by the artist, the body of work presented at Casa degli Artisti reflect on a new space-time dimension, in which the body of the work, and fruition itself, become dematerialized while maintaining a character of uniqueness, innate in Non-Fungible-Tokens. The idea is to stretch to infinity, to go beyond material boundaries by creating a new field of action that produces and at the same time transcends the existence of the work.
Patrick Tuttofuoco's reflections are enriched by dialogue with writer Umberto Sebastiano.
The visual restitution of this investigation included a video installation and two holograms, and the live minting of the project was carried out, thanks to which the digital work is in effect an NFT. From March 31 to April 3, 2022, at the same time as Milan Art Week, the work was available for public enjoyment. In order to stimulate an approach towards NFTs, THAT'S CONTEMPORARY organized an "NFT Art Lab Experience" a moment of direct confrontation with the different figures involved in the project: the artist, the art direction and the people in charge of the content creation and infrastructure part. The objective is to explore the artistic, technical and practical aspects related to the creation and buying and selling of NFTs.
The artistic direction of the project is by Martina Grendene, Martina Grendene and Jessica Tanghetti, and the technical realization of Forever was by Crazy Pandas Prod.
