Who we are
That's Contemporary was founded in Milan in 2011 as a Cultural Association with the aim of promoting networking between the various players in the contemporary art world in the city.
In 2022 it became a non-profit Social Enterprise to better pursue cultural and socially useful aims, selecting and promoting contemporary art projects capable of activating innovative processes.
Convinced that contemporary art can increasingly contribute to the development of good cultural welfare practices thanks to its polyphony and complexity, That's Contemporary operates through three areas of activity:
Storytelling & Communication - From the beginning, That's Contemporary has been committed to promoting artistic projects, with the aim of expanding cultural participation and the benefits it generates.
Experiences & Gatherings- Developed over time in dialogue with contemporary art protagonists, this activity aims to create opportunities for sharing and pathways for understanding and knowledge between different fields, offering art as a tool for finding one's way in the complexity of the present.
Own Projects & Partnerships - Specialising in art and business, and active in cultural production and in the dialogue with heritage, That's Contemporary co-creates valuable and creative programmes.

Driven by the desire to expand the cultural community, in 2011 Giulia founded That's Contemporary, which soon became a point of reference for those wishing to come into contact with art in Milan. Over the years, she has combined an editorial and storytelling approach with a range of cultural experiences that allow people to become more familiar with the practice of art. Since 2018, she has specialised in art and business with a focus on CSR and research and development through contemporary art.
Giulia is also a member of the Casa degli Artisti residency centre; she is the artistic director of La Materia delle Isole, a project to promote the Archaeological Park of the Aeolian Islands, and co-organiser of the Volcanic Attitude art and science festival.

"Always offering different visions of the contemporary through art and accompanying those who wish to do so to construct new codes of reading about the present has always been a mission for me rather than a job."
With a bachelor's degree in art history and a master's degree in luxury marketing & communication, I spend my days between fashion and art. Otherwise, I love traveling, reading and being a mom of two twins.
